Great soft serve and hard ice cream. They always have some interesting flavors and the counter staff is always happy and helpful. I can't speak about the food so this 5 star rating is for the ice cream alone.

Very good service, amazing deserts, thickkk ice cream, juicyyy pies. You should definitely go there! The meals are very good also, the soups are amazing!

Found this place by chance on a road trip. We had a really good breakfast. Friendly service, plenty of food and a clean bathroom.

The place needs major updates. The front of the building could look much better if they put fresh paint, flowers, get rid of weeds etc. they should improve the front of the building so they can get more Customers. As of now, not desire to stop by because it looks old and abandoned

As someone who as worked here for many years in the past, I can say as an employee these were the absolute friendliest people to work with and would be happy to come back anytime. They are down to earth and treat both their staff and customers like family. If you haven't stopped by here yet, It is a MUST when visiting Speculator. Those of you that have know what I mean. I've never had a bad experience here, in or out of the kitchen.

Decided to stop for lunch as we were driving past. Food was good, plentiful and reasonably priced. Wait staff was friendly and proficient, and while the decor wasn't polished, it was a fun little local diner with lots of character and history. Lots of menu options for all ages and wonderful french fries. I loved the fish and chips which were crispy cod strips that camw out nice and hot with a crunchy outside and a moist, tender fish inside. Love love love! Did not try the ice cream for which they were founded, but it looked heavenly and lots of people were coming and going to get some!

Lovely staff serving delicious food. Although we arrived 5 minutes before they close, they kindly received us and patiently made great fresh sandwiches. Their French Fries were spectacular. I marked them on my map to recommend to everyone I know.

I'm not sure what happened to this place based on past reviews, but this place was god awful. The food was stale and disgusting. We went to the restaurant part of the place, but maybe the ice cream is a lot better. Just look at that meat. It looks like it was yesterdays leftovers thrown into a blender.

This place is an absolute gem. I've stopped here twice on the way to go backpacking and have loved it both times. The food is great, good portion size, super fast, and very reasonably priced. The staff is also super cute. They are a young family with a small child who WILL ask you to play baseball with him. It's basically the cutest thing in the entire world. If you're in town you should really check them out.

Service was poor, mixed up my order, brought out something I didn’t order, forgot to bring out a soup we ordered. Food was so so. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

This is an old fashioned dairy bar style restaurant. The burgers are tasty, and the ice cream is great.The building is a bit run down, but don't let that scare you away. It's not any worse than it was 30 years ago, and the food is just as good as it always was.This place is an authentic Adirondack establishment that brings you back to the time before the 'dacks were overrun with flatlanders in Subarus.
